Personal Manifesto

 In Life

In the LTS (Leadership Training School) there was a new topic and speaker every week, it was incredibly diverse with topics like worldview, problem solving, cross cultural relations, decision making, reconciliation, crisis management and many more. Two of the main purposes of the LTS was:

1) Make a 5 year plan that I would eventually carry out.
2) Clearly defining different characteristics I believe I am called to be a, list of life values, mission & principles.

I came to the school with two goals in mind: Sustainability and Community. Early into the LTS I learnt my desire for sustainability was rooted in fear, a self assurance that I could provide for all of my needs and a fear the God could not, it was inwardly focused disregarding the betterment of others. The second goal was community, and I reflected on this, who did I feel most at home with? Firstly you, someone that has invested into my life (even if it is to the extent of just reading these words)! More broadly, I feel that the neo-tribal community (or Transformational Festival Community) are my tribe! So the question is: What am I to do to have the widest positive input into my tribe?

I thoroughly tested out many possibilities and came to the conclusion that to have the widest positive input is to make music and run workshops based on the theology/philosophy of the album produced.

I learnt my desire for sustainability was rooted in fear, a self assurance that I could provide for all of my needs, it was inwardly focused disregarding the betterment of others.

Clearly defining different characteristics I believe I am, called to be and strive to achieve.

Live life to the fullest and help people experience that same fullness

I’m here to be a gift, offering myself to be what God wants me to be to others.

A musician, a dancer, a painter, a poet, a creator, one that made a mirror as big as I possibly could to reflect the face of God back to Him.

One that brought together all the samples, each with a unique auditory experience combined together to make a song. (Helping people realise how beautiful their sound is) or
One that helped people realise that they’re a taste bud, each adding their own flavour to our collective existence.

I am a dreamer, one that nestles in the secret place of God, hearing his heart. Not always being able to share those experiences with people but sharing them with God like a friend.

I am grateful, everything I have is because of God’s grace and blessing.

Our planet – Sustainability, and stewardship of the environment, for the Earth is a precious gift to us from God. – (Gen 2:15)

Tribe – Unity within our diversity, I will bring glory to God through the many facets of the diamond of human life. – (Eph 1:3-14 – Chiasm)

Joy – It is apart of my family heritage, my sister, mother, grandmother, all have the same middle name, Joy. I will bring joy and be joy to others. – (Deu 16:14)

Peace – I will be an ambassador of peace, I wish to carry it like a cloud that brings rain to dry lands. – (Job 38:26)

Compassion – I feel the pain of others, compelling me to do something about it. – (1 Kgs 3:26)

Beauty – I will make art that is pure, God will refine me like silver and gold and give me visions more precious than induced ones. Not adorning the worldly but imitating the beauty of the Creator. – (1 Pet 3:3-4)

Identity – I will fight for people to have the identity that God wants them to have. – (Gen 32:24-28)

Wisdom – I will listen and honour the wisdom of others and respect their voice which is to be heard (Exo 18:24)

Server – (John 12:26, Luke 12:37, Daniel 6:20, Matthew 24:45)
Jesus was a servant to all, we are to follow his example. A way to do this would be to practice hospitality.

Learner – (Proverbs 19:20-21, 2 John 1:9, Colossians 2:8)
I’m a deep thinker or a little professor at heart. I will not be seduced by the philosophy of false prophets, I will find truth in the word and the wisdom of respected elders.

Patience – (Romans 12:12, Philippians 4:6, 1 Corinthians 13:4)
Being patient is being loving. Despite what is going on in the world, I want to be able to slow down and not worry engaging prayerfully in everything I do.

Listener – (James 1:19, Proverbs 19:20, Proverbs 2:2)
I will listen to the voices of creation and hear God that speaks through it, revealing his character.

Excellence – (2 Peter 1:3, Luke 16:10, Matthew 25:23)
If I do a job I will do it properly and do it well. A job half done is a job not done and we are called to be faithful in the small.

Humble – (Proverbs 3:34, James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5-6)
I’m to humble myself, I’m at the tip of the arrow but I am not the shaft or the feathers. I’m to take the opinion that if someone else was in my shoes they would do it better than I, so I should humble myself and respect every individual regardless of where they are at in life, for I can not judge.

Seeker – (Deuteronomy 4:2=9, Matthew 7:7, Proverbs 8:17, Jeremiah 33:3, Matthew 21:22)
I will seek God out, ask questions, and for blessings, knock on the door continuously and believe he will answer.

Reader – (Hebrews 4:12, Deuteronomy 8:3, Psalm  1:2, 119:97, 119:105, 2 Timothy 3:16)
I will dwell in the word, and be well read. Not because it is a strength, but because I am called to be of the world and not of it but I need to know what the world is to better combat against it.

Celebrator! – (Ecclesiastes 2:24, Ecclesiastes 3:4, John 15:11, Psalm 149:3, Matthew 22:2)
We are called to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth, and the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son. Therefore we’re called to celebrate and not just do it a little but extravagantly and lavishly all bringing glory to the groom.

Teacher – (Matthew 23:3, Romans 2:21, 1 John 3:18)
Practice what I preaching, doing first then teaching, not being a hypocrite. Teaching and teaching well, trying to keep a ration of 80% practical and 20% theory.

Valuing – (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-15, Jeremiah 29:11, Matthew 18:10, 1 Peter 1:18)
Acknowledging that people are made in the image and likeness of God, that they were knit together in their mother’s womb with intentionality, that they have value, a plan and a purpose.

Grateful – (Psalm 118:24, James 1:17, Matthew 6:21)
I will have a grateful heart and giving hands, for God is the ultimate provider, and all glory and praise belong to Him.

Creative/Visionary – (Exodus 35:31-32, Proverbs 22:29, Genesis 1:1-31)
I will rely on God for inspiration, and impartation. For He is the ultimate visionary and creator.

Ability – (Philippians 4:13, Ephesians 3:20, Matthew 13:55)
He has placed talents, passions and abilities in my hands and I’m called to use them to serve and bring glory to Him and to all creation.

Resourceful/Innovative – (John 6:12, John 3:16, Romans 8:28, Mark 2:21-22, John 14:26)
I will reduce, reuse and recycle, in a physical and also a spiritual sense. I will find the redemptive threads in life and extract them to construct a story that reflects God’s plan and purpose.

Honesty – (Proverbs 12:22, John 8:32, Exodus 20:16)
I will hold true to truth, conveying every element I understand to the best of my ability, exposing when I don’t have the answer. I will express positive gossip, emphasising the wholesome elements of their character.

Aware – (1 John 4:1, 1 Corinthians 12:2-3, Psalm 91:1-16, Ephesians 6:12, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
I will keep my eyes, ears and heart sensitive to what God is speaking, through all of creation. Spiritually discerning the environment around me being prepared for healing or combat. For the battle is not of flesh and blood.

Futuristic – (Proverbs 16:9, James 4:13-15, Ecclesiastes 7:14)
I will use the insight into the future that God has gifted me to develop plans, concepts and ideas that will be prepared for and embrace the future.

Ideation – (Romans 12:2, Proverbs 3:5, Exodus 34:6-7, Philippians 4:8)
I will lean into God for inspiration, and collaborate with the maker, creating concepts through the lense of God’s character

Inclusive – (Galatians 3:28, 1 Corinthians 1:22-24, Romans 11:11-24, John 15:5, Revelation 7:9)
We are grafted into the vine together, one is not better than the other. We’re all guests of the same table, I will call those who aren’t at the table to join with us and feast and celebrate.

Linker – (2 John 1:12, Proverbs 18:1, Hebrews 10:25)
I will use all forms of communication to link people to one another, so that mutual support can be made in their strengths and weaknesses.

Supporter – (Proverbs 31:8-9, 1 Samuel 14:7, Ecclesiastes 4:12)
I will be an armor bearer, a support and champion people to pursue their vision and dreams. Being a voice for the voiceless and a visualiser of dreams.

My long term plan:
